Direct Aid... The Society of St. Vincent de Paul's Mission is to help people in need; help individuals reduce and even eliminate the causes of their suffering. Direct Aid is at the center of the work of the local Conferences. Throughout the year the Conferences of The Society provide financial assistance for individuals who are experiencing a crisis. This assistance is offered on a personal basis and is provided with respect and dignity. Thousands of people in Southwest Idaho have been assisted with Direct Aid by way of Vincentian Home Visits. Depending upon the availability of funds, assistance with gas, electric, & water bills is provided by the Society's Conferences throughout the year for individuals who are experiencing a crisis and who cannot afford their regular monthly payments. Rental assistance is yet another way Direct Aid helps. Those facing eviction have a place to turn for help. This assistance too depends on the funds available to the Conferences at the time of the request. The Society understands that when people fall on hard times, sometimes they simply need a helping hand. The Society is here to extend that hand - to give help and hope. To apply for assistance in Southwest Idaho, contact us by calling our Help Line: 208-331-2208. If you are outside of our area, you can find a St. Vincent de Paul Conference by contacting your local Catholic Parish and asking for the St. Vincent de Paul Help Line in your area. |

The poor are hungry not only for food, they are hungry to be recognized as human beings.
They are hungry for dignity and to be treated as we are treated. They are hungry for our love. Mother Teresa |
