History of St Vincent de Paul...

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul’s organizational structure was outlined in 1835, two years after the founding of the Society. The Society has a simple and effective structure to support its work at all levels. The Councils of the Society provide opportunities for developing community, sharing expertise, and keeping Conferences and members in touch with the Society as a whole.

In 1835 the Society formulated its Rule, a series of Articles based upon the practical experiences of the first Vincentians. Our Rule emulates our patron, St. Vincent de Paul. The Rule of the Society has continued as a blueprint for the Society for 179 years. This, alone, is a tribute to its efficacy and to the spirit by which it was inspired.

St. Vincent de Paul

Jesus is reliving His passion in our poor people. The poor are really going through the passion of Christ.
We should treat them with dignity.....Give to Christ in His distressing disguise. It is Jesus in the poor
that you feed, clothe, and take in. Do it all with a great, undivided love.
