Welcome to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Southwest Idaho District Council's Web Site. This Site has information about the Society, our Programs and Events, How We Give Help and How To Get Help, Volunteer Opportunities, as well as information on how to donate to the Society.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul provides its members with opportunities to participate in multiple volunteer services directed to the poor, with a unique focus on one-to-one personal services through home visitation, aid, information/referral services, support, and problem solving. Volunteers serve meals, offer social support at our Community Dinners, contribute to strengthening families and are advocates for the poor. The Society is dedicated to the support of, and involvement in, community service.

Appeal for Donations...

Spring is here, and with it comes the need for warm weather clothing. Supplying food, clothes and funds to assist with utility bills, are just a fraction of the assistance offered by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Many in our community are struggling to get by. Please take a moment to consider donating to our cause so together we we can help out our neighbors. If you have clothing and/or household items you would like to donate, please call your local St Vincent de Paul Thrift Store to schedule a pick up.

In the News...

• The 2009 Thanksgiving Family Food Box Project provided Thanksgiving day dinners to over 2,100 families in need, far surpassing last year's numbers. The Society of St Vincent de Paul appreciates the generosity of the members in our community and the volunteers who make this a continuing success every year. • Our 1st Annual Friends of the Poor Walk was a tremendous success. Over $12,000 was raised. To see photos of this great event, and to read more about the Walk, simply follow this link.

• Great progress has been made on our Center project. Thanks to volunteers, and donations made to this project, work on the remodeling continues. The Center will house a Food Pantry and Dining Hall, as well as, several other programs to assist our community.
