Future of St. Clare’s Food Pantry
For nearly three decades St. Clare’s Food Panty, a special project of St. Vincent de Paul has been a beacon of hope for our neighbors in need. Each week, we welcome about 110 families (about 400 adults and children) with nutritious food. Kindness, and dignity.
When the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift store property sold, St. Clare’s Food Pantry lost its longtime home. Yet our mission continues stronger than ever.
Now, together, we can build a permanent home for this vital mission on the grounds of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church.
With your help, St. Clare’s Food Pantry will continue to be a sign of the community’s love and compassion for those who struggle with hunger. Your support ensures that one one faces an empty table.
The new St. Clare’s Food Pantry will include:
An efficient shelving and packing area, sorting areas, and loading under cover of a drive thru
Walk-in refrigeration and walk-in freezer and dry storage
A safe, accessible space for volunteers
The new building will allow us to expand capacity, improve efficiency, and offer a dignified environment for all we serve.

History of St. Clare’s Food Pantry
Bill and Kathryn Beumeler were dedicated to serving God and leaving a legacy that would live on long after they were gone. St. Clare’s Food Pantry was Kathryn’s dream to serve anyone in the community who needed help to have enough good food. They purchased a small camper and set it up with shelving to store food to be distributed at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Caldwell. That was short term until the St. Clare’s Food Pantry opened on the boulevard behind St. Vincent De Paul thrift store in Caldwell. This location served the needs of the community since the late 1990’s. St. Vincent De Paul thrift store and property has been sold and St. Clare’s Food Pantry needs for a new building at a new location. Bill and Kathryn had faith that the good people in our church and community would keep St. Clare’s Food Pantry strong and successful.
