Our six thrift stores need the help of volunteers! These are social enterprises that directly aid clients and fund our many programs. We have a variety of volunteer jobs and we can accommodate groups of any size. We have great needs in the areas of merchandising, processing, and repairs.

With five pantries covering the majority of Southwest Idaho, there is always need for committed volunteers to keep the food flowing to those whom need it most. There are many roles that volunteers can assist with, including both warehousing and client facing opportunities. Food insecurity is a major issue in Idaho. Are you willing to help?

Home Visitors, also known as Vincentians, are at the core of our mission. These volunteers go in pairs directly to the homes of our neighbors in need. There, these volunteers help most often with rent, utilities, clothing, and furniture as well as providing information on all of our other services. This is a more long-term volunteer role.

The 2019 Christmas Toy Store still needs more volunteers! If you believe every child should be able to celebrate Christmas, please consider volunteering! We have a variety of roles both in Ada and Canyon Counties. Click here to volunteer for the Christmas Toy Store. Updated info will be available fall 2020.

The Thanksgiving Food Box Project is just around the corner. This is our largest seasonal event and can take as many as 600 volunteers! Check back fall 2020 for updated info. If you are interested in participating as a volunteer
call (208) 559-2294.

We have many more volunteer opportunities. All of the programs on our website need volunteers. Please describe what you are interested in on the contact form. We often can customize an opportunity to your unique interests and skills. We welcome volunteer groups. If you have special skills or specialties, please let us know!

Last year, St. Vincent de Paul Southwest Idaho made 8,470 Home Visits. One of those was Jennifer. Living on a fixed income, just one financial mistake put her on the brink of homelessness. That's when St. Vincent de Paul stepped in, assisting with her rent that month. Watch her story to see how we work to keep our most vulnerable community members from falling through the cracks. We need your help to provide a safety net for our neighbors in need! Visit our website www.svdpid.org to donate in the #avenuesforhope campaign! The first $3,000 are matched dollar for dollar by the Home Partnership Foundation Avenues for Hope Idaho Housing and Finance Association
