Status: Full-time; Salary - $52,000-$57,000 depending on experience

Position Summary

The Volunteer Coordinator manages all aspects of SVdP’s volunteer program, ensuring volunteers are effectively recruited, trained, scheduled, supported, and appreciated. This role oversees volunteer placements across all SVdP programs and ensures all volunteer hours are tracked in GetConnected for accurate monthly reporting. The Volunteer Coordinator fosters positive volunteer experiences and ensures volunteer efforts align with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Recruit, screen, onboard, and manage volunteers across all SVdP programs.

• Ensure the volunteer application process is clear, accessible, and user-friendly.

• Maintain an active list of on-call volunteers for urgent or short-notice needs, such as early-morning prison pickups.

• Communicate clearly to all volunteers that hours must be logged in GetConnected after every shift, including last-minute assignments.

• Schedule and maintain the volunteer calendar; ensure all shifts are filled and communicated with staff.

• Coordinate with marketing to create volunteer recruitment and engagement materials.

• Maintain up-to-date volunteer resources, policies, and procedures.

• Provide basic understanding of the mission of St. Vincent de Paul Southwest Idaho to volunteers..

Training and Onboarding

• Organize and lead volunteer orientations and role-specific trainings.

• Collect required forms and run background checks as needed.

• Ensure volunteers are equipped with the tools and information needed to succeed in their roles.

Communication and Coordination

• Maintain regular communication with staff, HR, and leadership regarding volunteer needs and updates.

• Engage community partners and corporate groups in volunteer opportunities.

• Respond promptly to volunteer needs and provide support when issues arise.

Administration and Reporting

• Ensure ALL SVdP volunteer hours across all programs are recorded in GetConnected.

• Pull and submit monthly organization-wide volunteer hour reports to leadership.

• Maintain accurate volunteer schedules, records, and contact information.

• Track and report volunteer engagement metrics to support program improvement.

Community Engagement

• Represent SVdP at community events and volunteer fairs.

• Build strong relationships with volunteers to promote retention and engagement.

• Spend time in program locations to understand needs and improve the volunteer experience.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to regularly lift and move up to 40 pounds.

• Ability to stand, bend, and move for extended periods during an 8+ hour shift.

• Must be available to work some weekends; 40+ hours per week.
